Public release bundle

Download the latest active offshore wind dataset

Boundary Layer publishes an active-project release that combines offshore wind farm boundaries, turbine coordinates, and project dossier fields into a single public package. Releases are distributed under the Open Database License (ODbL), with source-specific notices published alongside the dataset.

What is included

Active offshore wind farm boundaries, turbine coordinates, and dossier rows for the currently published release.

Spatial coordinates are supplied in EPSG:4326 / WGS 84 longitude-latitude, with units in degrees.

Licence and notices

Boundary Layer distributes the compiled release under ODbL and publishes upstream datasource notices alongside each release.

In practical terms, you can use the dataset in your own maps, analysis, and products, as long as public use includes attribution, adapted databases stay under ODbL, and redistributions remain openly available.

Release details

Built for direct reuse

The download surface is designed for GIS users, analysts, and developers who want one stable entry point for the latest active-project export, while still keeping the supporting notice files easy to inspect.

Coordinates are supplied in EPSG:4326 / WGS 84 longitude-latitude. Units are degrees. For distance, area, buffering, or engineering analysis, reproject the data to a suitable projected CRS first.

ODbL in plain language

What the licence means for most users

This section uses the ODbL summary wording directly so the reuse conditions are easy to scan. The full licence text still controls.

  • Keep open: If you redistribute the database, or an adapted version of it, then you may use technological measures that restrict the work (such as DRM) as long as you also redistribute a version without such measures.

The database is licensed by the Licensor "as is" and without any warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or arising by statute, custom, course of dealing, or trade usage.
